A Nonexistent Appointment

Written By: Avshalom Guissin - Jun• 03•10

It never happened,

but we remember going through the bookshop,

scanning through the dilapidating used paperbacks,

buying nothing as proof of our being there,

vaguely referencing this or that,

making jokes about the man with the nose although

it never happened.

It was never about love,

but I remember the clothes you wore,

the short plaid skirt and the t-shirt that

provoked my sexist banter.

You,

remember all that we did afterwards and

It was never about love.
